Guests of all ages will enjoy beautifully decorated Nutcracker themed tables, ballerinas in costume, a performance by the Sugar Plum Fairy, tea & lemonade, finger sandwiches, desserts, games, face painting, a raffle and more. There will be 2 seatings this year: 12pm - 2pm and 3:30pm – 5:30pm. This is a very popular event. Tickets will sell out.  We are collecting bags of clothing, shoes and small household items as a fundraiser for Ballet Etudes.

Our Goal: $1000

 To reach this goal, we need about:

·       308 Tall Kitchen Bags of clothing, shoes and linens, etc.

·       60 medium boxes of household goods. Reuse those Amazon boxes!

 Meet at SAVERS at 9091 Garfield (x Magnolia) at 9:30AM on Saturday, September 30th

with your bags and boxes. If you cannot meet on that day, bags may be dropped off at HAD beginning Monday, September 25th.

We Are Collecting

Clothes - men's, women's and children's clothes, coats, shoes, scarves, handbags, wallets, fashion accessories, ties, belts, backpacks, etc.

Household Textiles - bedding, comforters, blankets, sheets, towels, linen, tablecloths, curtains, pillows, etc.

Small Household Goods – kitchen items (such as pots/pans, dishes, silverware, glasses, serving pieces and hand-held appliances), home decorative items, knick-knacks, toys, games, and small electronics

Books – paperback, hard cover - all genres. No encyclopedias or text books.

Please use bags for clothes and textiles and tightly pack boxes of small household goods. Separate books from household goods and media. All items must be clean and in sellable condition.

Each session will have a theme based on a popular children’s story, such as Beauty and the Beast, Under the Sea with Ariel, Jungle Book, Cinderella, Moana, etc. Lead by one of our dance instructors and our dancers, our youngest audience members get to dance along and learn some basic ballet moves. All ages are welcome, but dance-a-longs are geared for ages 1.5 - 5 years old.

This full-length production features the music of Pyotr Tchaikovsky, professional costumes, snow and other special effects and a cast of over 100 young Orange County dancers. Educational presentation 30 minutes before curtain at the 2pm performances. Meet the characters for a photo opp after the show. Includes one 15-minute intermission. The historic Huntington Beach High School Theater is handicapped accessible and parking is free. Tickets: $20-up

Enjoy cuteness overload as you and your children dine on tea and goodies at one of 18 Nutcracker themed tables. Nutcracker characters in costume will be on hand for photos and storytime. And the Sugar Plum Fairy will perform her special dance. There will be crafts, games, face painting, prizes and more. Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind Nutcracker experience! Nutcracker auditions will take place on Saturday, September 3rd, 2022. Please review the Audition Flyer for more info. Dancers level Standard 1 (Petite Performing) and up may audition for a potential second role if they are in a performing group or a single role if they are not in a performing group this year. Primary level Dancers may audition for a walk-on role and will not have an assigned performing group role. There is a $50 (non-refundable) audition fee that must be paid by Wednesday, August 31st, to reserve your audition spot. $25 of your audition fee will go towards your Nutcracker 2022 production fees. These fees do not apply to Company. If your Dancer is level 3 and below, or, if you are new to Ballet Etudes Nutcracker, you must attend a mandatory parent meeting during your Dancer’s audition time (4:00, 5:15, 6:00).
