ExTEND Program
Ballet Etudes ExTEND Program
Ballet Etudes’ ExTEND program brings the joy of dance to youth and families within our local community.
What We Do
Community Outreach Performances
We are committed to exposing children to the beauty, grace and athleticism of ballet. Each year, we invite qualifying local families from local Title 1 schools, foster care organizations and various family support programs to experience our full-length production of The Nutcracker at no cost.
Dance Classes in Local Title I Schools
We share our love of dance with local schoolchildren by providing no-cost, after-school dance instruction in tap and hip hop. Each session culminates with a performance for the parents.
Huntington Beach Public Library Dance-Along
Ballet Etudes provides a monthly dance-along program in conjunction with the Children’s library and story times that includes teaching our youngest community members about storytelling through dance.
Festival of Children
Every September, Ballet Etudes performs at Festival of Children at South Coast Plaza. Festival of Children Foundation supports multiple children’s charities in Orange County.
Huntington Beach Public Library Performances
We perform three high-quality ballet productions per year exclusively for the benefit of the Friends of the Children’s Library (FOTCL) in Huntington Beach. These performances always sell out quickly and funds raised go support programs of FOTCL.
Imagination Celebration
Ballet Etudes participates in this community program by hosting the “Imagine Yourself a Dancer” each spring. Participants ages 4-7 discover life as a dance student by taking a ballet class, creating a ballet craft, meeting a ballerina, and learning about pointe shoes! The event culminates with a performance of Ballet Etudes Youth Company.
Celebrating 25 Years of Giving
Ballet Etudes has been sharing dance with the community for 25 years! It has been an honor to donate over 300,000 free tickets to outreach programs in our community. In addition, we have donated multiple ballet performances annually totaling $350,000 in ticket sales which benefits Friends of the Library in their literacy mission.
