The Nutcracker 2021

December 10, 2021 - That’s a wrap on The Nutcracker 2021. After four nearly sold-out shows at the Huntington Beach High School Theater and four sold-out shows benefiting the Friends of Huntington Beach Children’s Library, Ballet Etudes has wrapped up The Nutcracker during it’s 25th season. Over 3,000 audience members came out to see Clara and her Nutcracker defeat the Rat King and his mischievous mice during the first two weekends in December. It was a pleasure to be back on stage in front of a live audience again after filming and broadcasting The Nutcracker: a Pandemic Tale in 2020. Over 80 cast members, wearing face shields or masks on stage, followed the theaters Covid protocols.

The Snow Queen (Grace Ng), Snow Princesses and Snow Court lead Clara to the Land of Snow.

The Sugar Plum Fairy (Sierra Woolums) rewards Clara for her bravery in defeating the Rat King by inviting her into the Land of Sweets.

The Arabian Princess (Sophia Rodriguez) and her Handmaidens dance a sultry

The Dew Drop Fairy (Lily Kurimoto) and her Roses lead Clara through a beautiful Waltz of the Flowers.

Ballet Etudes company members performed the lead roles in The Nutcracker.
