Cinderella - May 2022

Ballet Etudes Company Members perform the lead roles in the classical ballet, Cinderella.

On May 17 & 18, 2022, Ballet Etudes performed the classical ballet, Cinderella, at the Huntington Beach Library Theater. Four nearly sold-out shows were performed for patrons young and old with many of the youngest audience members coming in costume or princess dresses. As part of our community outreach program, Ballet Etudes performs three times per year for the benefit of the Friends of the Children’s Library. This was one such performance.

Ballet Etudes company members performed in lead roles and our Performing Groups performed in roles such as Time, Courtiers, Pages and Cinderella’s friends. Performing as Cinderella was Sarah Hom, who captured the spirit of this rags to riches story with beauty and grace. Cinderella performed a lovely pas de deux with her handsome prince and guest artist, Damian Kelly. The Evil Stepmother was played by Lily Kurimoto, and the jealous, comical Stepsisters were played by Haylee Vujicic and Grace Hager. Sierra Woolums was a beautiful and mysterious Fairy Godmother. The Fairies of Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter were played by Sophia Cardenas, Sophia Rodriguez, Makayla Arakaki and Julie Kurimoto respectively. Eden Mapel made a magnificently menacing Midnight. Lead Princesses were played by Julie Kurimoto and Grace Wendl. And Princesses were Sarah Beyer, Rachel Jaskowiak, Isabella Long, Sami Summers, and Harper Turpin.
